Story Synopsis

There is nothing in the world that the mysterious phantom thief known as Joker cannot steal. He goes after one treasure after another in unpredictable capers with miraculous tricks, building up a reputation for himself—The Miracle Maker, a phantom thief that succeeds no matter the pinch! Accompanied by his clumsy but loyal and kind-hearted apprentice Hachi, they travel the world in pursuit of treasures, meeting a cast of peculiar and unique characters.

Series

Popularized by the TV anime that initially aired in 2014, Kaitou Joker started off as a manga illustrated and written by Hideyasu Takahashi, published in Bessatsu CoroCoro in 2007. The anime's art direction is led by Miho Shimogasa, story direction by Yukiyo Teramoto, and series composition by Dai Sato. The anime gained popularity and attention for its cute, colorful, and distinct artwork, becoming especially popular with young women. Its popularity would lead it to receiving a 3DS game in 2015 and several Drama CDs. The anime would conclude with a fourth season in 2016, but still receives official merchandise releases as of 2023.
